Frequently Asked Questions

The 5-year visa exemption is available to overseas Vietnamese (Viet Kieu) and their immediate family members — including spouses and children — even if they hold foreign citizenship. It allows multiple entries over 5 years, with each stay up to 180 days. It does not permit working or studying in Vietnam; separate visas/permits are required for those purposes.

An E-Visa is a short-term electronic permit (30 or 90 days, single or multiple entry) for tourists and business travelers. The 5-Year Visa Exemption is a long-term benefit specifically for those with Vietnamese heritage or family ties — offering more flexibility and far fewer renewals for frequent travelers. If you qualify for the exemption, it's almost always the better option.

Since Vietnam is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, documents from abroad must undergo full Consular Legalization — a multi-step process: notarization → state/federal authentication → official stamp from the Vietnamese Consulate. This applies to birth certificates, diplomas, marriage certificates, and more. We manage the entire process from start to finish.

Yes. Vietnamese citizens residing overseas can apply for a passport renewal or first-time issuance through our services. We ensure your application meets all current requirements — correct photo specifications, citizenship documentation, and proper forms — preventing delays in your travel plans.

You will need an Affidavit of Single Status (Công Hàm Độc Thân), valid identification, birth certificates, and divorce decrees or death certificates if previously married. All foreign documents must be properly legalized through the Vietnamese Consulate before they are accepted. We guide you through gathering and preparing the complete dossier.
